What are the best treatments for ACNE, Scars and Pigmentations?

There are prescribed topical creams or foams and oral medication that are effective for the treatment of ACNE.

Topical cream and foams

Over the last 2 years, FDA has approved ZILXI and AMZEEP from Menlo Therapeutics. Generic name: Minocycline topical.

The novel foam formulation of minocycline features proprietary Molecule Stabilizing Technology (MST), which facilitates local application and bioavailability of minocycline while preserving efficacy.

This is the same vehicle in the company’s Amzeeq (minocycline) topical foam 4% for the inflammatory lesions of non-nodular moderate-to-severe acne.

Common side effects:

severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody (even if it occurs months after your last dose);
severe dizziness;

discoloration of your skin, nails, eyes, mouth, gums, or teeth.
liver problems–loss of appetite, stomach pain (upper right side), tiredness, itching, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes); or
lupus-like symptoms–muscle or joint pain, flu symptoms, chest pain, and a rash or patchy skin color that worsens in sunlight.

Minocycline can affect growth in children, especially if used long term.

Accutane or Isotretinoin

Accutane is a powerful drug used to treat ACNE and is usually deployed only if the condition has not responded to other treatments.

It will do a good job in clearing up your skin but there are potential side effects.

Isotretinoin is available in a variety of brand names, including Absorica, Amnesteem, Claravis, Myorisan, and Sotret. The original brand, Accutane, is no longer on the market.

When you first start using it, your acne may get worse before it gets better.
